Saskatoon Lighting Workshop by Nathan Elson

There has been a flood of requests from Saskatoon based photographers asking if I’ll ever do a workshop in their city, and since I love Saskatoon and teaching is a blast, I thought what the hell, why not. So, with that I’ll be in Saskatoon for a full day on-location lighting workshop on Sunday, June 12th, 2011.

The morning will be spent in studio where we will discuss the basics of studio lighting in regards to exposure, light modifiers (what I use and why), relationships between light and distance, and the simple math of putting it all together. From there we will discuss how to apply it all on location with emphasis on controlling and mixing studio lighting with the available ambient light, then head out on location for the afternoon with a couple of models for live shooting demo’s.

The workshop is limited to 15 people and the fee is $300 + gst. All sales are non-refundable, unless something crazy happens like the city is over-run with gophers sporting laser-beam eyes, in which case I’m not coming and you can have your money back to purchase some mirror plated armor…

To sign up for the workshop please email me at: nathanelson@gmail.com
